Arthur L. Sciocchetti, age 77

Arthur L. Sciocchetti, age 77 of Upper Chichester passed away on April 21, 2020 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born to the late Arthur J. and Florence Verna Sciocchetti in Chester, PA., he has resided in Upper Chichester for 50 years. Arthur graduated from Chichester High School, class of 1960. He then went on to serve his country in the Air Force as part of the 600 Air Force Band from 1960-1964. After his honorable discharge, he studied auto mechanics at Lincoln Technical Institute. Art was a lifetime member of the Boothwyn Fire Company, he joined in 1972 and was made an Honorary Life Member in 1993. In addition to that role, he also served as a trustee. In 1981, Art joined the Upper Chichester Fire Police where he served as the Fire Police Captain for 20 years, now serving as a Fire Police Safety Officer. During the school year, Art could always be found out protecting the crosswalks as a Crossing Guard for Upper Chichester Township, a position he held for 11 years after his retirement from Union Park Pontiac, Wilmington, DE. Art was a constant fixture at every Fire Company hosted event including his favorite, the annual “Santa Run”. A talented musician, he really loved playing music in his bands, dancing to James Brown and listening to country music or classic rock music. He also enjoyed the companionship of his beloved dog, Winnie, camping and attending his granddaughters’ soccer games and band concerts. Art also had a passion for the Phillies and was an avid NASCAR fan. Art is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela Douglas Sciocchetti, 3 children; Michael A. Sciocchetti, Jennifer (Roy) Stone and Amanda (Mark) Bateman, a brother, Paul D. Sciocchetti, a sister, Louise A. Gaspari and 5 grandchildren; Chip, Becky, Madison, Aubrey and Sienna, in addition to his nieces and nephews. A public visitation will be held for all on Monday 9:30-10:30AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA, however due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, family, friends and relatives will be asked to form a Drive-Thru receiving line in the Parking Lot beginning at 10AM at the funeral home.

Beginning at 11:00AM, a Private Funeral Service will be LIVESTREAMED for Art by visiting (www.paganofuneralhome.com) or via Facebook (search Pagano Funeral Home). Interment will remain private at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
