Charles H. Nicholas
Charles H. Nicholas on July 13, 2018, age 90 of Newtown Square, formerly of Woodlyn and Clifton. Beloved husband of the late Thelma B. (nee Bradley) who died December 16, 2012. Devoted father of John (Donna) of York, PA. and Joan Novino (Al) of Broomall. Also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Collingdale High School Class of 1946 and he went on to attend the Wharton School of the University Of Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an active volunteer at the Newtown Square Fire Co. where he rose up through the ranks attaining the position of Assistant Chief, he also assisted with the Delaware County Fire Police for many years. He was also a Safety Officer for the Newtown Square Fire Co. Charles first worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a computer analyst. After he retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad, he went to work for the US Navy Ship Yard as an analyst for 15 years before retiring in 1975. He was a longtime member of St. Anastasia Church. He worked for Edgmont Township for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Wednesday 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, Sprould and Lawrence Roads, Broomall, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at Saint Anastasia Church, West Chester Pike, Newtown Square. Int.
