George “Fred” F. Shertenlieb, 70

George “Fred” F. Shertenlieb, 70 of Trainer, PA died peacefully at home on February 23, 2012 surrounded by his family.

Born to the late George C. and Annie R. Johnson Shertenlieb, he resided most of his life in Trainer, PA. George graduated Ridley Park High School in 1961 and was employed at Conoco Phillips as an Area 1 Operator for over 30 years retiring in 2009. He was a Councilman in Trainer for over 20 years, during which time he served as Vice President of Council, Civil Defense Director, Public Safety Director, Councilman and was on the Board of Health and was on local Environmental advisory Council for over 10 years . He was also a member of the Delaware 1st State Radio Controlled Airplane Club, Delaware County Radio Controlled Airplane Club as well as being a member of West End Boat Club, AMA (American Model Airplane Association), NRA and a honorary member of Lennox Park Fire Company since January 1960, along with Fire and Police for 1st and 11th District. He was involved with the Boy Scouts as a leader and donated many years of volunteer services.

Survivors: wife of 41 years Marlene R. Babicki Shertenlieb, 1 daughter, Penny Johnson of Trainer, PA, 1 granddaughter, Christina Trice of West Chester, PA also nieces and nephews.

Services: Funeral service on Thursday 10AM, at the Moreland-Pagano Funeral Home, 825 Main St. Trainer, Pa.

Visitation: Wednesday 7-9PM & Thursday 9-10AM, at the funeral home.

Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
