Michael J. Boyce, 89, of Trainer, died July 11 at Riddle Memorial Hospital, Media.

A lifelong resident of Trainer, Mr. Boyce proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Sierra. For more than 50 years, he was a member and honorary member of the Trainer Fire House, where he served as treasurer. He was a member of the Retired Oil Workers, where he also served as treasurer. He was a member of the Delaware County Firemen’s Association, Knights of Columbus, Men of Malvern, and Trainer Senior Citizens.
Mr. Boyce was an active member of Holy Saviour Church, Lower Chichester. He enjoyed wood carving, daily Mass and an occasional game of Wii bowling and chess. He was devoted to his family and faith.
He was the son of the late Gertrude Freeman Boyce and Michael J. Boyce Sr., and brother of the late William J. Boyce.
Survivors: Dear brother of Marie Gicker; two nieces and three nephews; as well as 15 great-nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours: From 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at Kaniefski-Kendus-D’Anjolell Memorial Home 3900 West 9th St., Trainer.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Savior Roman Catholic, Ridge Road, Linwood.
Interment: Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Linwood.
