It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Jerry Gaspero. Jerry was a member of the Upper Chichester Fire Police Association and Reliance Fire Company Station 61 now Upper Chichester Fire Department Station 10. Jerry passed away this morning in the hospital. No further details are available at this time. We ask that you keep his family, friends, and extended family from the Reliance and Upper Chichester Fire Departments along with Upper Chichester Fire Police Assoc. in your heart and prayers. Once more information is available it will be posted.

Sorry everyone but due to updated restrictions by Gov. Wolf and the state of Pennsylvania there will be NO HONOR GUARD. Due to number of people restricted in the building to 10 people at a time Honor Guard has been Canceled. If you wish to pay your respects we are asking that you please stagger your time between 12:00 and 13:45. Services will be held at 14:00 and can be viewed online at the link below. Funeral Services for Fran Desmond will be Saturday December 5th at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home located at 5980 Chichester Avenue Aston, PA 19014. The funeral home is located at the intersection of Chichester Ave. & Concord Road. Visitation will be from Noon till 13:45 with services following @ 14:00. Grave site services are not known at this time.

*Due to Covid-19 Regulations for the State of Pennsylvania, effective Friday, 11/27/2020, there will be a maximum of 35 people allowed in the funeral home at one time. – From Nolan-Fidale website.

Today we lost a good friend and the current President of the organization Fran Desmond. Fran passed away this morning at Crozer Hospital around 1:30 AM. No further details are available at this time. We ask that you keep his family, friends, and fellow officers and members of station 62 and the Delaware County Fire Police Assoc. in your hearts and prayers. Once more information is available it will be posted.

Please keep Jerry and Gulio Gaspero and their family in your prayers. Both Gulio and Jerry are in the hospital battling COVID-19. We are asking that you keep them all in your hearts and prayers. We pray that everyone gets better and we hope to see you home really soon. May God bless you both and your family and may he grant you all a full and speedy recovery.

Help needed for trunk or treat on October 31st at the Arlington Cemetery in Upper Darby. Paul Blanford has a written request for any county fire police that is available to help with this event.

Duties will include traffic control as well as pedestrian crossing on Lansdowne Avenue. Paul will be OIC and point of contact for this event. 2 different time slots are available 3PM (15:00) to 6 PM (18:00) and 6PM (18:00) to 9 PM (21:00). Any help would be appreciated and please pass the word and bring the family.

To ALL Fire Police as of Monday July 13th to be in compliance with Governor  Wolf’s state orders any call that fire police are dispatched to INCLUDING calls with your own company you MUST have a mask on hand and use it when dealing with the public. Any fire police officer not using a mask must use a facial barrier or covering such as a nomex hood and also remember to maintain a 6 foot distance when possible when dealing with the public.
